What else for the swan song, but more of the most beautiful bird--the lilac breasted roller--national bird of Botswana.

Here's one in the evening sun which changes the lilac to almost rust.

And this one has breezes ruffling his feathers.  I added the background to go with this stationary!

When I mentioned I hadn't been able to ever get a roller flying picture, an e-friend from Santa Barbara, who used to live in South Africa, said she agreed that it was very hard, but sent me this one she took, which gives you a glimpse of the iridescent turquoise of the opened wings and tail.  You can see more of her excellent photography at:  http://www.araly.com  She specializes in native flowers of her area.

And finally, my favorite one, but flipped so you won't remember seeing it before.

See you after the next trip!
