On our third morning at Duba Plains we set out to watch the Tsaro Pride again.  James couldn't believe they would hunt today after the feast they had the day before, but it seemed as though they simply couldn't stop themselves.  The buffalo were there and the lions were there and instinct took over.

Here is the herd peacefully grazing and lying down chewing their cuds.

And here comes the pride, walking along towards the same area.
Sorry for the width, but I wanted you to see the whole group.  They are a very healthy and strong pride.

After the lions got rather close to the herd they all lay down in the shade.  The buffalo know they are there, but continue grazing casually.  But you could see the lions were thinking..................

One by one the lionesses got up and started towards the buffalo.  Don't you love the head down at shoulder level look of a stalking lioness!  These next few letters will focus on the skill and strategy of the lionesses with the actual kill as just a brief episode at the end.  Watching them work was amazing and marvelous.  The scope of the view was huge, so I have cropped the photos as much as I can to keep the size of the letters down.

And so it begins.
