The first animals we saw on the first drive were wild dogs!  They had been sleeping under a bush, but our tracker spotted them.  We would never have seen them under there.  We stopped and they came out to see what was up.
 
One doesn't realize how big their ears are.
 
There was much yawning and scratching and then they all lay down again.
 
Some looked around and some went back to sleep.
 
 
 
 
They are so interesting.  Supposedly their name is being changed to painted hunting dog, but we didn't hear anyone calling them that.  Wild dogs are the most threatened predator in Africa and it is hoped that a 'friendlier' name will help raise interest in them.
