One of the sweetest things we saw was a lioness introducing her new cub to the
pride for the first time. Our ranger, James, knew about the cub, and was watching for her
to bring him around. He is about a month old.
He dutifully followed her for quite a while.
It was work to keep up.
She waits for him like a loving mom should. They didn't go right up
to the rest of the pride, just hung around where they could be easily seen.
But then he got bored and began to fool around.
She went into the shade and he played around. They are a little way
away from the pride, but they all know he and she are there.
The pride then set off on a hunt, but the mom and new baby chose to stay
behind. James said that when the hunt is successful, she will join them to get some meat.
