A Few More Animals Seen in Kruger

We saw a lot of giraffes in Kruger Park. You can see how they keep the trees trimmed to a good height.
These are red billed oxpeckers which have a symbiotic relationship with the animals--keeping them free from ticks and getting a free meal at the same time.
Don't you love this expression! Giraffes have a whole set of faces they make and this is one of my favorites.
The little animals can be cute too. Here's a wary squirrel eyeing us.
Coming upon an animal right in the road is always exciting even if it's "only" an impala. One has to be sure the whole group has crossed to avoid having one jump on the car or worse yet, hitting one.
As you pass them, you can get a better view. Doesn't she look as if she's making a snide remark about us to her pals?
There is very little road kill in the park. We only saw a couple of snakes. This little guy was unusual to see in the road--a single striped mouse. From the very small to the......
.......very large. One just has to wait till these giants decide on which side of the road they want to browse.
The best leaves are the ones almost out of reach.
Here you can see the veins in the back of the elephant's ear. With the blood so near the surface, the elephant can cool itself by waving the ears back and forth.
Just be sure the elephant has definitely decided where it wants to be before you drive by. I'll have a story about that later. Meanwhile back at the rondavel......
