As we drove along one morning, this elephant came out of the bush a little way and
provided a lot of photo ops.
First he did a little mock charge with the flared ears and the dreaded curled
trunk. Apparently a real charge has the ears back and the trunk between the front legs,
but we didn't know that so this was impressive enough for us.
Jackson knew it was a mock charge and we didn't leave, but we did have the engine
running--good practice around elephants. Here the trunk just has a little curl.
Then he put his trunk up to sniff the air and see if he could tell anything about us
that way.
Well, that didn't work either, might as well give the old trunk a rest. I'll just
hang it here on this tusk.
Or I could give the mock charge another go!
