This will be a mishmash of subjects--some trees, some elephants and some lions.
When you are driving along, it's easy to miss something that should have
been pretty obvious. But suddenly there you are--right upon it and it's only a few feet from the car !
It's best to take quick advantage of such a view and capture interesting
details that you might miss further away. Like the eyelashes..........
Sorry, we were too close for the big lens to focus, but the eyelashes
were at least six inches long! Bill was not happy so close, so we moved on quickly
before the elephant decided to check out our eyelashes too.
We saw quite a few lions, but none in the Park that were very close to us
for viewing. You'll have to wait for the Botswana portion for that. These two
fellows were way off the road, but they were some of the biggest lions I've ever seen!
When the one to the right flopped over to go to sleep, it seemed as if the ground shook!
This is the view from one of the nicest places you're allowed out of your
car, Nkumbe. You can see forever. There was not much game this time, but it's still so inspiring.
and some trees................
Candelabra tree growing at the above lookout.
The famous baobab tree in the southern part of Kruger Park.
I think these are flowers from the flame tree, made famous
by the film, The Flame Trees of Thika.
